The Friends of Waldorf Education organization is inviting people from all around the world to apply for the program, which was launched in 2011 and is designed for motivated and socially committed individuals over 18 years of age. The participant’s permanent address has to be outside of Germany.
All volunteers will receive an allowance of at least 150 EUR per month during the program, as well as visa application support and a free accommodation and board. Participants will also have a chance to take part in seminars at the beginning, during and at the end of the program.
In order to take part in the project, at least basic knowledge of the German language is a must. For those working in the fields of curative education (children with disabilities) and senior care (homes for the elderly), a good to excellent knowledge of German is required. Volunteers are also expected to be willing to improve their knowledge of the language during their program by taking up language courses.
Another requirement is a practical experience in working with the elderly and people with special needs. Those who don’t fulfill this requirement are expected to take up a two-week training program or an internship at a qualifying institution in their home country.
Complete applications have to be sent by email prior to the deadline to incoming@freunde-waldorf.de. A complete list of necessary documentation can be found on the organization’s official website at https://www.freunde-waldorf.de/en/community-service/incoming-voluntary-service-in-germany/apply-for-incoming-program.html
